  • Q: What should I do if I experience technical problems, and what happens if the course is cancelled?

A: The Learning Management System (LMS) provides comprehensive support including detailed access instructions (available as illustrated video during orientation), supplementary learning materials (readings, PowerPoints, PDFs, and self-assessment quizzes), and direct instructor contact via LMS or email. Assignment extensions may be granted under exceptional circumstances such as medical emergencies or significant personal difficulties; you must contact your instructor before the deadline to discuss your situation. If you encounter any technical issues accessing the LMS, our administrative support team is available to assist you.

A: Attendance means being present for sessions (either in person or logged into the LMS), while participation means actively engaging by contributing to discussions, asking questions, and collaborating with peers. Both are required and crucial for your academic success. If you miss a class, you are responsible for catching up on the material. For unforeseen absences, you must notify your instructor and administration in writing (email is acceptable) as soon as possible. For planned absences, provide at least 48 hours' notice. If you are absent for a valid reason (e.g., illness), inform your instructor and college administration.

A: Plagiarism is presenting someone else's work, ideas, or words as your own without giving proper credit, including copying text, paraphrasing without citing sources, or submitting work done by someone else. If you are suspected of plagiarism, you will be notified in writing and invited to a meeting to discuss the allegation, where you can present your case. If confirmed, penalties range from a reduced mark to expulsion in severe cases. SMC provides resources and workshops on academic writing and proper referencing available on the LMS, and your instructors are available to provide guidance. It is your responsibility to understand and use the correct citation style.

A: The tuition fee is £1,100 per student, comprising a £100 non-refundable registration fee and £1,000 for 110 hours of tuition, which includes SMC's internal certification. Additional accreditation is charged separately if requested. Fees must be paid in full before course commencement unless you have agreed to an instalment plan in writing; fees agreed at enrolment remain fixed for the duration of your course. If you withdraw before the course starts, you receive a full refund. If you withdraw after commencement, refunds are issued on a pro-rata basis for undelivered portions, subject to an administrative deduction of up to 10%; no refunds are granted once 50% or more of the course has been delivered. Under UK consumer law, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of signing the agreement for a full refund (cancellation requests must be in writing, email acceptable). SMC does not charge hidden or additional mandatory fees; optional extras will be disclosed in advance.

A: Upon successful completion of the Comprehensive Strategic Management Course (Level 1), you will receive SMC's internal certification. Additional accreditation can be arranged for an additional fee. To pass the course, you must complete all lessons, quizzes, and assignments, participate actively in sessions, and meet attendance requirements. SMC may offer progression opportunities to higher-level courses; details about progression pathways will be provided during your course or can be obtained from college administration.
A: If you experience technical difficulties accessing the LMS, first check the troubleshooting guide on the LMS. If the problem persists, contact the technical support team immediately. For issues during a live session, inform your instructor as soon as possible. In the unlikely event that SMC cancels the course, you will receive a full refund of all fees paid.
